Assistant Prosecuting Attorney – Dickinson County

Dickinson County, located in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula, is seeking qualified applicants for Assistant Prosecutor.

General job duties include: reviewing warrant requests, drafting search warrants, conducting pre-trial conferences, bench trials and jury trials; as well as other duties as assigned by the Prosecuting Attorney and Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Caseload will include matters in probate and family court, as well as both misdemeanor and felony cases. The desired applicant will be proficient in legal research and writing. Responsibilities include on-call duty on a rotating schedule.

Required Education and Experience: Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan. Recent law school graduates are encouraged to apply but employment is conditioned upon passing the Bar Exam. One year of criminal and/or family court experience is preferred.

Starting Salary/Benefits: This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefit package including health, dental, and eye insurance, generous paid time off and longevity pay. Starting salary up to $85k and is commensurate with experience. A MERS defined contribution plan with 10% employer contribution and three-year vesting schedule.
