Position(s): Project Consultant Assistant Prosecuting Attorney (PC APA)

Duties: This is an entry level position in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.   PC APAs prosecute misdemeanor and felony cases under the direction of a supervising APA.  PC attorneys authorize warrants, take pleas, and conduct preliminary examinations and jury and non-jury trials.  They file and respond to motions and conduct evidentiary hearings.  Consideration for employment as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney 1 may be extended upon completion of at least one year, satisfactory performance and a vacancy in the office.

Requirements: Graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Michigan.  Candidates should demonstrate competence in criminal law, evidence, research, and writing.  Some courtroom experience is preferred.

Financial Info: This is a contract position that pays $50,000 per year with no benefits.
