Assistant Prosecuting Attorney- Livingston County County
Duties: Under the direction of the Prosecuting Attorney and/or the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, performing the function of Assistant Prosecuting Attorney primarily in Juvenile/Family Court. Duties will include petition screening, prosecution of delinquency cases, attendance at forensic interviews, drafting and prosecution of termination petitions representing Prosecutor as a co-petitioner in abuse and neglect cases (this office does not represent DHHS), appellate proceedings involving these cases in the Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court, and periodic on call.
Additional duties may include warrant screening, periodic District Court dockets, special prosecutions and Circuit Court matters (depending on experience and qualifications) and other duties as assigned by the Prosecutor.
Requirements: J.D. and Michigan Bar Membership required. Prosecution experience preferred.
Financial: The starting salary for this position is, depending on qualifications and experience, either at the APA-1 level - $66,987 (with eligibility for step increases currently up to $87,084) or at the APA-2 level - $77,412 (with eligibility for step increases currently up to $100,636).
