PAAM Violence Against Women (VAW) Project & Child Abuse Prosecution Resources Project

The VAW Project's mission is to improve the justice system's response to domestic and sexual violence and stalking by providing multi-disciplinary training and technical assistance to increase implementation of best practices, enhance offender accountability, and empower victims. The Child Abuse Prosecution Resources Project’s mission is to improve the justice system response to child abuse and child sexual assault by providing prosecution training and technical assistance in these areas.

Responsibilities and Duties

This full-time position will be responsible for assisting both the VAW Director and the Child Abuse Prosecution Resources Director.  Responsibilities to both projects include working with both project directors to create and coordinate dissemination of educational materials and training concerning violent crimes against women and related topics that are victim-centered as well as child abuse and child sexual assault crimes.  Training audiences can include prosecutors, law enforcement, victim advocates, sexual assault nurses and community-based advocates. Other responsibilities include general office tasks, supply ordering, hotel expense audits, technical assistance at conferences, and any other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Associate degree or two years relevant experience preferred.  Familiarity with the criminal justice system or victim advocacy services preferred.  Must be able to read hotel contracts and be familiar with the needs of scheduling conferences including rooms, av equipment, etc.  Must be well versed in Microsoft products including word, excel and Google docs.   Proficiency in creating/maintaining directories and databases. Experience with video editing and creating podcasts a plus. Must have excellent organizational, verbal and writing skills, including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.  Ethics, confidentiality and professionalism are critical. Frequent in-state travel required.

Financial Information:

This is a full-time, grant funded position with full benefits, based at the PAAM office in Lansing. The salary range is $38,917 - $42, 869, depending on experience.
