Assistant Prosecuting Attorney- Clare County

This position is a grant funded position pursuant to grant award number 2020-YX-BX-0001, under the Innovative Prosecution Solutions for Combatting Violent Crime.

SALARY: $60,000.00/health insurance available

GRANT PERIOD: Ends September 2022; however, there may be an option to extend the grant
another year if funds are not completely expended.

REQUIRED: Current license to practice law in the State of Michigan
Felony level trial experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience, minimum of 5 years is preferred

DUTIES: The individual hired to fill this position will be handling felony level violent crime
cases, which includes, but is not limited to, felony level assaults, criminal sexual conduct, and child sexually abusive activity. The work on these cases encompasses review for charges up to trial, motion practice, and attendance at forensic interviews at the child advocacy center. There are also requirements associated with the administration of the grant, such as filing timely reports and tracking progress on these cases.

This individual will also work closely with the prosecutor office investigator that will also be hired under this grant to assist with necessary follow up and trial preparation.
