Assistant Prosecuting Attorney- Alpena County
The Office of the Alpena County Prosecutor is seeking an experienced felony trial attorney to serve on a short term month-by-month contractual basis. Successful candidates must be licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and have two to three years experience in the criminal law and have trial experience. This person would be under the direct supervision of the Prosecuting Attorney.
Under the direct supervision of the Prosecuting Attorney, reviews and authorizes requests for felony and misdemeanor warrants. Regularly appears in district and circuit court and attempts to resolve and dispose of criminal cases or tries felony cases in Circuit Court.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Education: Juris Doctorate Law degree from an accredited law school.
Experience: Prefer some experience in a criminal and/or civil law setting.
Other Requirements: Licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and a member in good standing with the Michigan Bar.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
