Assistant Prosecuting Attorney- Ionia County

General Summary: The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney (APA) will be primarily assigned to Probate Court and/or District Court to handle any and all proceedings associated. The APA will be responsible for, but not limited to: reviewing warrant and petition requests, conducting plea negotiations for both juvenile and adult defendants, drafting and responding to motions/appeals, and representing DHHS in Abuse/Neglect cases. Strong oral advocacy skills are required as the APA will be expected to be able to conduct various hearings, preliminary exams, bench trials, and jury trials. 

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited Law School.

·         Member in good standing with the State Bar. 

·         A valid Michigan driver's license is required. 

Starting Salary: $ 47,639.00 plus benefits (salary negotiable based on experience)
