Meet the Director


Pamela Maas joined the Prosecuting Attorney’s Association of Michigan in November of 2020 as Director of the Child Abuse Prosecution Resource (CAPR) Unit. Ms. Maas began her career as an assistant prosecuting attorney with the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. During her time with Oakland County, she served as the Chief of the Child Sexual Assault Section where she was responsible for the criminal prosecution of many cases involving the sexual assault of children.

In 1997, Ms. Maas joined the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office. While there, she was instrumental in developing the CARE Project, Livingston County’s multidisciplinary team responding to serious physical and sexual abuse of children. She also helped establish Livingston County’s protocol for the Investigation of Child Abuse and prosecuted many child abuse cases in court. In 2012, Ms. Maas became the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Livingston County and continued her focus on child abuse cases.

Ms. Maas has served on both local and state task forces, committees and work groups that address the maltreatment of children, child abuse, child sexual abuse and sexual assault. She has served to update both Michigan’s Forensic Interviewing Protocol and Michigan’s Model Child Abuse and Neglect Protocol. She has also frequently lectured on trial advocacy, the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases, and on forensic interviewing of children.

Ms. Maas is a graduate of the University of Michigan Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She received her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University in Detroit.
