About Us


Our Purpose

The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan has designed this project as a pathway to address the problem of abuse of the vulnerable and aging adults in the State of Michigan.

Objectives

  • To provide training and technical assistance for prosecutors, law enforcement, Adult Protective Services, and all other partners in the coordinated response against elder and vulnerable adult abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.
  • To assist in the development of local protocols for the investigation of crimes against vulnerable adults, elder death review teams, and multidisciplinary investigative teams.
  • To provide quality and up-to-date legal reference materials to assist prosecutors and all involved professionals to more effectively prosecute and handle vulnerable adult abuse cases.
  • To provide and encourage a dedicated liaison between all necessary personnel to work for better coordination in the reporting, handling and prosecution of adult abuse cases
